(WCVB) — BOSTON — Ten people were taken to Boston hospitals after a taxi went out of control and struck several people in East Boston. State police said the 56-year-old driver is being interviewed by investigators.

Sources tell WCVB the incident appears to be an accident, most likely a case of operator error where the driver hit the gas instead of the brake.

“At this preliminary point in the investigation, there is no information that suggests the crash was intentional. The driver is currently being interviewed,” state police said.
