S&P 500 higher as tech stocks snap 3-day losing streak

(CNBC) — U.S. stocks traded mostly higher on Wednesday tech stocks tried to snap a three-day losing streak.

The Nasdaq composite rose 0.86 percent, with Facebook, Amazon, Apple, Netflix and Google-parent Alphabet all trading higher.

The S&P 500 rose 0.2 percent, with information technology rising 1.3 percent to lead advancers, after turning lower earlier on Wednesday.

Tech has been the best-performing sector this year, but it has fallen approximately 5 percent over the past month.
