A number of years ago I traveled to Egypt and was taken to the Cairo bazaar. It's a tourist attraction with a lot of stores and carts. One feature at the far side was a mosque that I was invited to go into once I had removed my shoes.

Earlier, upon approaching the entrance to the bazaar, my Egyptian client, who was Muslim, informed me that a bomb had gone off in the bazaar the week before I arrived and that a metal detector was now in place, so I need not worry. We both went through the detector, and no one seemed the least upset by its presence.
