While guest hosting “The Mark Levin Show,” former Secret Service agent Dan Bongino went off on leftists for their “grotesque, stinking … hypocrisy” in the way they’ve reacted to the Obama administration’s surveillance of former Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort.

Bongino, author of the new book “Protecting the President: An Inside Account of the Troubled Secret Service in an Era of Evolving Threats,” Wednesday ran through a list of Obama administration scandals the left yawned at – Benghazi, Fast and Furious, the IRS targeting of conservative groups and the Justice Department’s spying on reporters.

Then he contrasted that with their fascination with Manafort’s finances.

“But now, all of a sudden, libs are so curious about the inner workings of Paul Manafort’s financial situation,” Bongino said. “Now you’re curious. Now you want all the details. … You know, I’m sick of you frauds, and all of you out there should be, too.”

Bongino said America gave Democrats “the double-barreled middle finger” in the 2016 elections precisely because they are tired of this sort of hypocrisy.

He noted that the left doesn’t seem to be bothered that no one has revealed the reason Obama spied on Manafort.

“The most awesome power on Earth is the power to take your freedom and take your life,” Bongino said. “That power is held monopolistically by the federal government, and you’re not even remotely worried that they targeted a free United States citizen, and still to this day no one has provided a reason. That doesn’t bother you? That really speaks to the kind of character you have if this doesn’t bother you at all.”

What’s wrong with the Secret Service, how did it get this way and what can be done to fix it? Find out in Dan Bongino’s “Protecting the President,” available now at the WND Superstore.
