I just thought of a new political term – the "American Palestinian."
In the Middle East, the one group that's never allowed to rest, heal, develop, or grow are the Palestinians. (Let's just acknowledge the group, not that they really existed as a people.) Surrounding Middle Eastern powers do not want the Palestinians to ever get comfortable or establish themselves. A constant state of turmoil is their existence, and it is used as a source of pity, wringing of the hands, symbol of oppression, etc.
The same could be said of black America – constant state of turmoil, all their problems are someone else's fault, persecution and woe. The nation's leadership wants no solution since there is no problem. It's the same separation principle.
