Mayor Bill De Blasio, D-New York City
A male immigrant from Uzbekistan in his late 20s drove a rented Home Depot truck into a group of pedestrians on a busy bike path in lower Manhattan Tuesday afternoon, killing at least eight people and injuring nine as he shouted "Allahu Akbar," which in English means "Allah is Greatest!"
The terror suspect's name has not been released by authorities, but several news outlets are reporting it as Sayfullo Habibullaevic Saipov. He is a native of Uzbekistan who entered the U.S. around 2010 as part of the annual Diversity Visa Lottery program and had a green card, meaning he was a legal permanent resident.

"If every American knew about the Diversity Visa Lottery they would be screaming bloody murder," said Ann Corcoran, author of the Refugee Resettlement Watch project.
The U.S. allows about 50,000 migrants per year into its borders under the Diversity Visa Lottery program. "It's all these legal immigration programs that are killing us but we've been so focused for so long only on illegal immigration," Corcoran said.

He worked as an Uber driver.
Translated into English the name Sayfullo means ""Sword of Allah" and Habibullaevic means "Lover of Allah."

Uzbekistan is a country in central Asia dominated by Islam with a Muslim population of more than 90 percent.
Saipov is not the first Uzbek national to migrate to the U.S. and carry out a terrorist-related crime.
In August 2015 Fazliddin Kurbanov, a refugee from Uzbekistan living in Idaho, was convicted of making bombs in his apartment with the intention of blowing up a U.S. military installation.
Clueless as to motive

But the attacker's religion compounded by his recent immigration and his shouting of the infamous Islamic war cry was not enough for the FBI, the mayor of New York, CNN and most of the establishment media to determine this was an Islamic terror attack.
The attack took place at 3:05 p.m. and the FBI immediately made statements that the motive is not known, then Mayor Bill De Blasio took the podium about 5:20 p.m. and was able to confirm that the attack was indeed an act of terrorism. What kind of terrorism, however, was not discussed.
There was no mention of Islam or what might have motivated the attacker. Fox News focused on the attacker's likely status as a "lone wolf" and whether he could have been "self radicalized" as opposed to having learned to attack infidels in a mosque or by reading the Muslim texts.
New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo said in a press conference that the attack was targeting New York because it is a "symbol of freedom and democracy," describing the suspect as a likely “lone wolf.” He added, “That also makes us a target from those people who oppose those concepts… We go forward together, and we go forward stronger than ever. We’re not going to let them win.”

Again, no mention from the governor of Islam or the Islamic texts that have inspired devout Muslims throughout history to carry out jihad.
Former Director of National Intelligence James Clapper got on Fox News and said that since the 29-year-old suspect was alive and in custody, investigators have a unique opportunity to interview him and "get inside" his mind.
But those who study the Islamic texts say this attack should not be so difficult to unpack.

Pamela Geller
Pamela Geller, president and founder of the American Freedom Defense Initiative and editor in chief of the Geller Report, said it's shameful the way law enforcement and media have been trying to disassociate Islam from terrorism when the facts speak for themselves.
"Rick Levanthal of Fox News reported that JTTF said the shooter shouted 'Allahu Akbar.' Why did authorities immediately declare it was not terror?" she told WND. "Is it because the jihad-aligned Mayor de Blasio is running for re-election? De Blasio did the same thing when a Muslim bombed the Chelsea neighborhood last September. He ran down to the bomb site and declared it was not terror-related.
The FBI acted similarly a few hours after the attack on Las Vegas Oct. 1 that killed 58 at a country music concert.

Dr. Mark Christian, a former Muslim imam who grew up in Egypt before converting to Christianity in his late 20s, said the Arab media in Saudi Arabia and Egypt was faster and more accurate with the news coming out of New York Tuesday.

The U.S. media was reporting six dead until mayor Bill De Blasio upped that figure to eight during a press conference about 5:20 p.m. The Saudi press reported eight dead almost immediately after the event occurred at 3:05 p.m.
Dr. Christian also noted that CNN waited nearly two hours to report that the suspect shouted "Allahu Akbar" [Allah is Greatest] and even when it did, the Arabic words were missing and only the mistranslated English of "God is Great" was presented to CNN viewers.
The assailant was described as a 29-year-old male migrant from Uzbekistan, but his name was not released at the 5:15 p.m. press conference in New York.
ISIS has repeatedly encouraged Muslims in the West to use vehicles as instruments of terror against the so-called infidels or non-Muslims. But anyone who associates terrorism with Islam is marginalized by the media in both Europe and the U.S., said Dr. Christian.
"They want to label us Islamophobes, they want us to shut up and die in silence by the sword of Islam," Dr. Christian said. "James Clapper told Fox News he hopes we will gain some insight and understanding of the motive and what leads to this attack since we have the perpetrator in custody.
"When the former head of national intelligence doesn’t' know the motive of the guy who acted today while shouting Allahu Akbar, that sends the wrong message to the American public. And then CNN interviews a guy who is presented as just another normal American guy in the street who happens to be muslim guy and he's scared like everyone else, this is propaganda, this is the way they do it on TV now, they send you a message without you understanding it because it's meant to confuse exactly what happened…that's sending a message that Islam has nothing to do with this."
Philip Haney, a retired Homeland Security screening officer, said this would be a good time to highlight the successful CAIR-ACLU lawsuit to shut down the NYPD's very effective counter-terrorism surveillance program that focused on monitoring mosques.
"That was a travesty for law enforcement officers, and the American public," Haney said.

Robert Spencer
Robert Spencer, author of several bestselling books on Islam and director of the Jihad Watch project, said the authorities are losing the public trust by withholding the truth:
"According to Erin O’Donnell of Fox News, a joint terrorism task force member told Fox’s Rick Leventhal that the gunman was screaming “Allah akbar.” Juxtapose this with New York officials immediately saying that the incident was not terror-related, and it looks as if this could be yet another official cover up of the motivating ideology behind a jihad massacre. Officials all over the West are losing the trust of their people with this denial in the teeth of the facts."
