Once again, the little Satan, Israel, has drawn the short straw on the world stage.
Hatred for Israel at the United Nations has been common knowledge for decades. Per capita, there may be more Israel-hating anti-Semites roaming the halls of the august Turtle Bay facility than in Iran.
Thankfully, President Trump is doing something about it. He should be congratulated for pulling America out of the corrupt UNESCO, the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization.
UNESCO’s “declared purpose is to contribute to peace and security by promoting international collaboration through educational, scientific, and cultural reforms in order to increase universal respect for justice, the rule of law, and human rights.”
That may have once been its purpose, but UNESCO has become no more than a global “social justice” platform. And as we know, for social justice warriors to have purpose, they require a common enemy. In the U.S., the enemy is the white race. Globally, the common foe is Israel.
“Earlier this year, UNESCO designated the Old City of Hebron and the Tomb of the Patriarchs – one of the holiest sites for the Jewish people – as part of the Palestinian territory,” wrote Rep. Ken Calvert. This is unconscionable, but par for the course at the U.N.
Yet as poorly as Israel has been treated, things are likely to get much worse, due to recent accreditation of several anti-Israel hate groups.
The U.N. began as gathering place for nations, but over the decades it has allowed entry into its global community to some 6,200 Non-Governmental Organizations, or NGOs. These NGOs “have been invited to participate on a year-round basis in U.N. activities, and have thus been handed a coveted global megaphone,” says Anne Bayefsky, senior editor of Human Rights Voices.
The NGO accreditation process is not supposed to be easy as they must be accepted by at least one U.N. council, and “the aims and purposes of the organization shall be in conformity with the spirit, purposes and principles of the Charter of the United Nations.”
However, there is a special carve-out involving Israeli-related matters. For anti-Israel hate groups, they can acquire accreditation quite easily through the Committee on the Exercise of the Inalienable Rights of the Palestinian People. On the application, NGOs should include, “information on their activities and programs ‘in support of the achievement of the inalienable rights of the Palestinian people.'” That doesn’t sound like a rigged system.
Banners of some of the NGOs include slogans like “F**k You Israel,” “Israeli Apartheid,” “Zionism is Racism – Free Palestine,” and my favorite, “NAKBA – Never Forget the Right of Return.”
It’s my favorite because it’s the most subtle, at the same time being the most devious.
The goal of Arab States since 1948 has been to rid the region and the world of the little Satan, Israel. It just took a little longer for the rest of the world to catch up. The Arabs have tried repeatedly to militarily conquer Israel and got their collective butts kicks every time.
They finally figured out, and have successfully convinced the balance of the world’s left, that the only solution to righting the wrong of Palestinian refugees is to allow them all the “right” to “return” to Israel, thus overwhelming and conquering the tiny country politically and economically.
So married to this deception are they, that should the mythical “two-state” solution ever become a reality, the Palestinian leadership claims it would refuse to grant citizenship to refugees. If these refugees were granted citizenship to the state of Palestine, it would nullify their “right of return,” which would negate their only hope of collapsing Israel.
And the United Nations is a willing party to the deception.
It’s high time President Trump went all the way, rather than merely pulling out of UNESCO. What’s that saying? Get the U.S. out of the U.N. and the U.N out of the U.S.
