Hollywood’s elites use their fame and fortune to push one progressive cause or liberal political candidate after another. But with recent public revelations concerning acts of sexual abuse and harassment by their own, coupled with their community’s silence about it, Hollywood’s moral high ground has been abandoned.
It is disturbing so many remained silent, not for fear of physical harm, but of adverse material harm. Actors feared reporting an influential personality’s egregious sexual misbehavior could end their career and politicians doing so feared losing the accused’s flow of donations to a leftist cause.
But this sexual misbehavior gives rise to a question with much more serious consequences for America. Underneath these Hollywood revelations lies buried a deeper, darker issue. It should give us pause for reflection, as the answer to “The Question” has national security implications.
Before posing The Question, let us first revisit recent accusations leveled against some Hollywood notables.
Harvey Weinstein, 65, one of Hollywood’s most prominent film producers and a Miramax co-founder, woke up one October morning to discover sexual allegations made against him by several women in the New York Times.
Accusers included a “Who’s Who” list of actresses. Angelina Jolie and Gwyneth Paltrow claimed he made unwanted sexual advances while Rose McGowan accused him of rape. McGowan received a $100,000 settlement for her claim – made without Weinstsein’s admission of guilt. She accused her Hollywood peers of sweeping knowledge of Weinstein’s behavior “under the rug.”
Model Ambra Battilana Guiterrez, groped by Weinstein in 2015, reported him to police and later recording a conversation in which he admitted it.
Many other accusers shared their “Harvey hands” stories, which involved enticing them to join him in the bedroom or shower or pulling their hands to his crotch. Previously undisclosed allegations went as far back as three decades.
By virtue of his Hollywood status, Weinstein felt he had a license to sexually assault, rape or otherwise intimidate women.
With Weinstein’s fall from grace, other sexual harassment victims felt encouraged to step forward, identifying other members of Hollywood’s predatory community.
James Toback, 72, a long-time Hollywood writer-director, similarly stands accused. While he denies the allegations, Los Angeles Times reporter Hillel Aron asserted over 300 women reported Toback encounters of a sexual kind after the story broke.
Women are not the only victims of Hollywood predators. A 2015 documentary co-produced by Gabe Hoffman indicates pedophilia is an industry problem – with offenders not being rooted out. A 2004 child sexual abuse conviction did not prevent actor Brian Peck, now 57, from continuing to work in Hollywood on projects involving children, including a Disney Channel series.
Disgustingly, Hollywood has allowed itself to become a predators’ sin city – a place where they not only can force themselves upon women and children but know cognizant citizens will do nothing to stop them. These perverts believe their social status imbues them with a license to sexually abuse whomever they wish.
But what if Hollywood’s miscreants are not the only ones believing they have such a license? What if a class of male citizens within American society truly believes they possess a God-given license to harass, beat, rape or otherwise mistreat women and children. What if that license even included the right to murder a woman or child for dishonoring them?
Furthermore, what if our leaders voluntarily opened our borders to such licensed abusers, fully realizing they practiced this behavior based on their religious convictions?
Would it not ultimately be irresponsible to allow such religiously sanctioned sexual-abuse licensees into our country to disrupt society, presenting a major national security threat to us from within? Would it not be foolhardy of our leadership to flood the country with such an influence so totally contrary to the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, which we embrace but these licensees do not, claiming it incompatible with their religious beliefs?
Lest one believe this impossible, it is happening today as this influence spreads with every group of male Muslim migrants entering the U.S.
Lest one believe this impossible, one need read the Quran and understand Shariah law, granting Muslim males authority not only to abuse Muslim women and children but to take non-Muslim females as slaves to be raped for the sole purpose of humiliating them.
Lest one believe this impossible, one need look to Sweden – a country that began opening its borders to Muslim males in the mid-1970s and today holds title as the rape capital of the West. Police estimate the 2 percent male Muslim population of the country is responsible for 77.6 percent of the rapes.
Lest one believe this impossible, one need consider the fact in Norway the vast majority of rapes involve Muslim males. They form gangs, brazenly taking such names as “Take your turn.”
Lest one believe this impossible, one need recognize Muslim gangs in the U.K. are raping non-Muslim women on an “industrial scale.” Also from the U.K. comes a report that Muslim males are 200 times more likely to rape children than non-Muslims.
Lest one believe this is impossible, one need reflect upon the mass sexual assaults during the 2016 New Year’s celebrations in Cologne, Germany, where women were molested, raped, assaulted and robbed by groups of male Muslim ingrates given a new life there.
This, then, is “The Question”: Why are the media choosing to report on the clearly outrageous sexual misconduct of but a few Hollywood reprobates while refusing to report on the much more outrageous and widespread sexual misconduct of Muslim males entering our country – misconduct Muslims believe Islam sanctions and which has the capacity to destroy America from within?
The answer is “Islamophobia.” Both Muslim and non-Muslim activists have so effectively attached this label to anyone daring to criticize Islam for its teachings, the media have become gun-shy about focusing the spotlight on Islam’s truths.
As we see in Europe, it will be our women and children who ultimately pay the price for our media’s failure to sound the clarion call warning about this threat.
