(CLARION PROJECT) An Ohio man who pleaded guilty to terrorism charges as well as trying to murder a federal judge was handed a sentence of 27-and-a-half years in prison.
Yahya Farooq Mohammad, 39, is a citizen of India and will be deported upon release. The sentence was part of a plea bargain that waived his right to a trial, where he would have likely been given a life sentence.
In addition to pleading guilty to conspiring to provide and conceal material support to terrorists, Mohammad also admitted to soliciting an undercover FBI employee who was posing as a hitman to kidnap and murder U.S. District Judge Jack Zouhary.
