Roy Moore vs. Doug Jones

One thing everyone should know by now is that the Democratic Party and the media will eagerly smear conservative Republican candidates to deprive them of winning – especially just before the vote.

Another thing we should have all learned by now is that both apply completely different standards – even diametrically opposite – to establishment candidates versus those who they fear will shake up the Washington status quo.

Lastly, we should have all learned recently how the Democrats and the media have been willing to overlook the most egregious sexual offenses and accusations against their own power brokers while seizing on the flimsiest of charges against their opponents.

Since I have been out of the country for the last two weeks, I will admit that I have not been able to follow all the nuances of the charges hurled against Judge Roy Moore who is seeking a critical U.S. Senate seat for the state of Alabama.

So, what do we know actually know today about this controversy?

We know the Democrats and media have, once again, seized on unproven accusations against Moore in his bid against Doug Jones.

We know very little about Jones.

We know Moore has been in the public eye for more than 35 years.

We know Moore has always been hated by both the Republican and Democratic political establishments.

We know that in that time Moore has never been accused publicly of sexual offenses or moral turpitude until the last three weeks.

We know Moore served with distinction in the Vietnam War.

We know he has a distinguished legal career and has run for high office in his state of Alabama, twice winning the position of chief justice of the state Supreme Court.

We know the establishment twice won political battles to unseat him from office.

We know he is an avowed Christian conservative – pro-life, anti-establishment, pro-Constitution, defender of limited government.

We know Doug Jones is pro-abortion, a defender of Planned Parenthood, a supporter of Obamacare, a politician who believes in man-made catastrophic climate change and wants to reorder our economic system to decrease levels of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere, someone who thinks economic justice demands we raise the national minimum wage, a Democrats' Democrat who opposes proof of eligibility to cast votes in national elections.

We know the choice in the Alabama Senate race is between Doug Jones and Roy Moore.

We know that many prominent Republicans are distancing themselves from Roy Moore because of the unproved and unsubstantiated accusations against him because it's difficult to defend against such charges – reckless though they seem to be.

With what we know and don't know today, the choice is 100 percent clear. Roy Moore is a flawed human being, like all of us, but he is indisputably the best candidate for the job.

I would never defend or support a candidate for office I believed to be guilty of such serious moral offenses; there is simply no evidence they are real.

Since we know Democrats and the media have demonstrated over decades that they will happily discount even well-documented offenses against their own candidates and will use the flimsiest of accusations against their opponents, we should expect them to desperately slime Judge Roy Moore just as they are doing.

Let me remind you of some recent cases:

Bill Clinton
Hillary Clinton
Harvey Weinstein
Anthony Weiner
And last but not least, consider the case of current Sen. Bob Menendez of New Jersey. He stands accused of, among other charges including official corruption, preying on teenage prostitutes in foreign lands, the victims of sexual slavery. Do his colleagues threaten to unseat him? Not at all. In fact, most Democratic and Republican senators have not even called on him to resign as he faces conviction and sentencing for his alleged crimes while in office.

They tried to slime Donald Trump the same way.

Are you glad Trump was elected?

Would you have preferred Hillary Clinton being elected in his place?

Democrats and their overwhelmingly friendly accomplices in the Big Media lie, cheat, steal and get away with it.

To me the Alabama Senate race is a referendum on fake news and corruption.

If it turns out some of the allegations against Roy Moore are true, there is a process for removing him from office. But we know enough about his opponent, by his own record and his own positions, that he is part of the problem, not part of the solution.

Therefore, I urge Republicans in Alabama – and Republicans everywhere – to support Roy Moore for the Alabama Senate seat. We should do so enthusiastically.
