With all the media attention given to the school shooting in Parkland, Florida, and the politically activated students across the country, there’s a powder keg of racism about to explode in South Africa.
If you’re not aware of it, it’s because media have almost totally ignored it.
Perhaps it’s because the racism isn’t about threats and danger to people of color, but about blatant dangers and injustices against white people.
Unfortunately, that doesn’t fit the leftist’s recipe for “racism.”
After a new president was elected in South Africa – Cyril Ramaphosa – his new platform began to take shape, resulting in a February vote in parliament that will drastically change the country.
The vote amends the country’s constitution to allow the government to confiscate white-owned land without compensation.
It was a landslide vote – 241 to 83.
The motion was brought by legislators supporting the opposition leader, the radical Marxist Julius Malema.
Malema wasted no words in saying what he believes and what he wants to happen.
“The time for reconciliation is over. Now is the time for justice. We must ensure that we restore the dignity of our people without compensating the criminals who stole our land.”
So much for agreements made at the end of apartheid.
There is opposition to the move. Ernst Roets, deputy chief executive of the civil rights group Afriforum, said: “The motion is based on a distorted image of the past – that expropriation without compensation is a form of semantic fraud. It is nothing more than racist theft.”
Pieter Groenewald, leader of the Freedom Front Plus Party, said stripping white farmers of their land would result in “unforeseen consequences not in the interest of South Africa.”
It’s reported that the land seizure is also opposed by the Democratic Alliance, the Congress of the People, the African Christian Democratic Party.
Malema insists he isn’t seeking revenge on whites but what he calls “a restoration of the dignity of black people” in a country that was more segregated under apartheid from 1948 to 1991, under an all-white government.
A government audit shows that whites now own 72 percent of the farmland now, as opposed to 85 percent at the end of apartheid.
He said: “We will not chase white people to the sea. We will give them a portion. We will share the land piece-by-piece.
“And you can’t own bigger than us – you are a visitor. Visitors must behave. They must know that the land belongs to the people of South Africa – the indigenous people of South Africa.
“All that our people ever wanted is their land to which their dignity is rooted and founded.”
They may not be taking the land yet, but there is concerted terrorism against white farmers and their families. Attacks, beatings and killings are rampant.
Bottom line, there’s more to this than meets the eye. Politics, of course. According to the Daily Mail, the ANC is increasingly under pressure to speed up land redistribution to help shore up its support among poorer black voters ahead of next year’s elections.
There’s a part of this story that Western media ignore, and it has to do with the actual settlement of South Africa. When whites – the Boers, also called Afrikaners – who were Dutch, German and Huguenots, settled South Africa, they found an unoccupied land. In fact, the majority of black tribes followed the whites onto the land that became the modern South Africa. So in reality, whites and blacks both colonized that land.
But that historic reality is regarded as heresy by the mainstream.
What is beginning now in South Africa, a legal backlash against white property owners, is exactly what happened in Zimbabwe under President Robert Mugabe.
When Mugabe took over Rhodesia, changed the name and changed the government, he then declared all-out genocide of whites, especially farmers. White farmers had their land stolen, and thousands were beaten and murdered. Their only crime was their color and that they owned prosperous farmland.
Unfortunately, as blacks took over the land, they didn’t know how to run farms and soon the agricultural economy of the country was in ruin. There was no agriculture to export and, in fact, there was/is barely enough produce to feed the population.
Death, starvation, destruction of businesses – all in the name of “equality.” It was, and is, clearly genocide against whites.
Through all this, there was barely any “outrage” from Western media – and now that the same thing will be happening in South Africa under a communist government, one wonders how this will be handled.
There’s an interesting movement in this country that should get media attention. There is a petition asking President Donald Trump to allow white South Africans to immigrate to this country under an emergency immigration plan. Since they are the targets and victims of racial cleansing in their country, they are qualified for such a welcome. In addition, they have skills and trades, speak English and understand our concept of freedom. There are similar petitions in the E.U. and in Australia.
If anyone has any doubts as to where the South African policy will lead, one only has to remember the land thefts and murders in Zimbabwe.
Then remember what Julius Malema, the man behind the South African plan, said:
“We are not calling for the slaughter of white people, at least for now.”
That’s not a threat. It’s a promise.
Now what?
