PHOENIX – A woman posing as a Starbucks employee at the Phoenix Convention Center this morning tweeted a threat to slip estradiol pills into the coffee of conservatives attending a conference here.

“I love my job at the Phoenix Convention Center Starbucks and I love slipping my spare estradiol pills in the coffee of anyone wearing a #WesternConservativeConference lanyard,” tweeted a woman who dubbed herself LLW at 8:57 am today.

She appears to be Lauren Walker, someone raising money for “facial feminization surgery” as part of a transgender procedure, through the YouCaring crowdfunding site. However, Starbucks says she does not work for the coffee chain.

Security personnel for the Phoenix Conservative Conference called police in response to the threat, but said they were unaware of any action taken by law enforcement.

Estradiol is a prescription drug used to increase estrogen in women experiencing menopause and is also used in in transgender treatments. The side effects include yeast infections, headaches, endometrial hyperplasia, fluid retention, weight gain, breast pain, menstrual cramps, bleeding, stomach pain and abnormalities in fetus development in women who are pregnant or become pregnant. The drug also includes warnings about possible harm to babies of nursing mothers taking the drug.

“I was oblivious to this threat because I don’t consult Twitter before getting my coffee,” Farah said. “However, it appears this is just a case of psychologicai terror by a deeply disturbed individual unconnected with Starbucks.”
