[To Pat Buchanan:] Christ saved us from utter destruction. The utter destruction is what happens in hell. It is not an eternal conscious torment suffering in hell. Just because hell is an eternal lake of fire does not mean things thrown in it burn eternally. They burn until utterly destroyed. Avoid the logical fallacy.
If you think me wrong, please identify the Bible passage that says otherwise. If the pope actually said lost souls just disappear, are utterly destroyed, I have finally heard a pope say something that indicates he may have read the entire Bible. I have been looking for such a comment attentively for 50 years.
