In what is just the latest incident of violence by Somali refugees in the United States, a gang has been caught on video attacking victims in a Lewiston, Maine, park.
Maine First Media reported witnesses said the attack began when one of the victims asked an attacker for a lighter for his cigarette.
One victim was hurt badly enough to be taken to a hospital, even though no charges were filed.
Main First Media said a dozen Somali youth “swarmed and attacked two local residents in Kennedy Park last Thursday evening. The Somali mob attacked around 7:45 pm, just as the sun was setting on this historic city park in the heart of Maine’s second largest city.”
The report said a local mother recorded the video “as a mob of teens and children, boys and girls as young as nine years old, brandishing wooden bats and other objects, along with fists, feet and sheer numbers to attack the two non-Somali defenders.”
“At one point you can even here one of the hoodlums repeatedly daring the woman to, ‘stop me, b—-.'”

“Lewiston Mayor Shane Bouchard says these types of incidents are common at Kennedy Park, but points to Lewiston’s low crime rate,” the report continued.
“Kennedy Park is a large common space in the middle of some of the poorest census tracts in the Northeast,” Bouchard told the agency. “When you have large, diverse groups of people in the same place you are bound to have incidents. Lewiston is no different in that respect than any other medium to large city, except that Lewiston’s violent crime rate is one of the lowest in Maine.”
Maine First said it was “far from the first incident of Somalian attacks at Kennedy Park.”
“Recently, a 10-year-old girl was jumped and beaten by a Somali girl at the park. As such occurrences become more common in Lewiston, many lifelong residents are now afraid to bring their own children to play.”
The mayor said part of the blame should be placed on the immigration to the city over the past two decades.
“While what we are seeing in our inner city right now is partially an issue of 20 years of terrible immigration policy, these issues were happening in Kennedy Park before the new Mainers arrived,” he told the outlet.
But he also blamed parenting.
“Bigger picture, children are just not taught respect anymore, and that can be said about children in general, our visible population in that area just happens to be an immigrant population,” he told Maine First.
A commentary at Gateway Pundit said the mob of at least 20 youths “laughed as they beat two men.”
The conflict between American culture and the Somali culture brought by immigrants has been evidence for some time.
The first Somali to become a police officer in Maine, Zahra Munye Abu, was arrested recently for assault and battery, disorderly conduct and resisting arrest.
Then there was Morgan Evenson, 26, who was attacked by a Somali migrant Dec. 13 and stabbed 14 times before a pedestrian came to her aid in uptown Minneapolis.
The Minneapolis Police Department is no stranger to violence by Somali refugees. The city is home to the nation’s largest Somali-American population, more than 50,000 strong, almost all of them hand-selected for resettlement in the U.S. by the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees.
The city’s first Somali police officer shot and killed an unarmed white woman, Justine Damond.
And in the summer of 2016, a band of more than a dozen Somali men terrorized the city’s Linden Hills community for three straight days, threatening to rape a woman, beating one resident’s dog and shouting “jihad” as they drove vehicles over residents’ lawns and pretended to shoot people through their duffel bags.
And then there was the mysterious apartment explosion several years ago in a Somali neighborhood of Minneapolis in which three people lost their lives. No arrests were made in that case, nor was there any explanation for the cause of the explosion.
WND reported Somali refugee Mohammed Ali Mohammed was freed from jail just a few years after attacking a woman who was standing outside her Salt Lake City home and sexually assaulting another woman a night later.
He was not the only Somali criminal to cause outrage in the state.
In February 2016, 17-year-old Abdi Mohamed was reportedly in a coma after being shot three times by police following an incident in which Abdi was found beating another man, Fox affiliate KSTU-TV in Salt Lake City reported.
According to a statement from the Salt Lake City Police Department, officers witnessed two males with metal objects attacking a male victim around 8 p.m. in the area of 300 South Rio Grande Street.
“Officers confronted the two suspects and ordered them to drop the weapons. One of the males complied and dropped the weapon, the other [Abdi Mohamed] continued to advance on the victim and was shot by officers,” the statement said.
Actor James Woods posted a video of hundreds of Muslims in brightly colored robes and hijabs filing into the Nickelodeon Universe at the Mall of America in Bloomington, Minnesota. The incident came on the heels of a vicious knife attack by a Muslim at the same mall.
Mahad Abdiaziz Abdirahaman, 20, was charged with two counts of first-degree assault after he stabbed two brothers – Alexander and John Sanchez – because theey tried to stop him from stealing clothes from a store at the Mall of America.
He was allegedly caught red-handed in the middle of a robbery in the dressing room at Macy’s, and one of the brothers nearly paid with his life trying to stop the heist. Abdirahaman used an 8-inch blade to cut 19-year-old Alexander Sanchez “to the bone,” leaving a wound that required dozens of stitches and a blood transfusion to save his life, the Minneapolis Star-Tribune reported.
