Rep. Trey Gowdy, R-S.C., told the heads of the Justice Department and the FBI on Thursday that it's time to end the investigation by special counsel Robert Mueller into Russia influence on the 2016 election.
"Finish it the hell up," the congressman told Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein and FBI Director Christopher A. Wray during a hearing before the House Judiciary Committee.
Rosenstein and Wray were there to explain why documents requested by Congress, who have oversight over the agencies, are being withheld.

Gowdy noted the FBI chose Peter Strzok, whose antagonism toward then-candidate Donald Trump is documented in text messages, to lead the Russia investigation.
Gowdy sarcastically described Strzok as "dispassionate and fair" when Strzok was lashing out against Trump as "destabilizing for the country" and "a disaster."

"I'll leave out all the f-adjectives," Gowdy said.
The congressman said Strzok claimed to be able to "protect the country at many levels."
Gowdy pointed out that Strzok, instead of pursuing Russian influence, decided instead to "stop Donald Trump."

"Russia attacked this country. They should be the target," he said. "This country is being hurt by this investigation. … We've seen bias. We need to see the evidence."

"Whatever you've got. Finish it the hell up."
