(TOWNHALL) – Earlier this week Peter Strzok, the FBI agent who was removed from the special counsel investigation over his inappropriate political bias shown in text messages, was escorted from FBI headquarters in Washington, D.C. Attorney General Jeff Sessions confirmed Thursday that his removal from the building was due to the fact that he lost his security clearance.
"Mr. Strzok as I understand has lost his security clearance," Sessions said during a radio interview on "The Howie Carr Show."
On June 19, the day Strzok was escorted from the building, his attorney issued a statement regarding his employment, saying Strzok "remains a proud FBI agent who wants to continue working to keep the American people safe."
