(London Daily Mail) Mexico's new president is planning an amnesty for 'hundreds of thousands' of youths caught up in organized crime in an effort to stem the country's epidemic of cartel-related violence.
Security advisers for President-elect Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador said on Friday that amnesty legislation aimed at lessening violence will be developed with the input of crime victims and presented to Mexico's congress.
The security cabinet meeting was the first of a long day of gatherings for Lopez Obrador. In the evening he met for several hours with his economic team.
