(Washington Examiner) President Trump on Monday said he and Vladimir Putin were off to a "very good start," as he emerged from a two-hour meeting with the Russian president where the two men were joined only by translators.
The one-on-one meeting in Helsinki kicked off the first bilateral summit between Trump and Putin since the U.S. president took office. Both leaders were joined by their top national security aides for a working lunch following the initial meeting.
"I think it's a good start," Trump said in response to a shouted question. "Very, very good start for everybody."
