Does President Trump realize Google is the king of the Trump Derangement Syndrome crowd?
I wonder if he does, because he's actually made some charitable comments about the company.
Recently, for instance, in criticizing the European Union's $5 billion fine against Google, he called the U.S.-based Internet search monopoly a "fine company."

Google is not a "fine company." In fact, its search algorithms stack the deck with news reports that border on anti-Trump hysteria.
If you doubt what I say, just try this little experiment yourself: First go to Google News on any day, any hour, any minute. Then search the news for Trump. See what you find.

In preparation for this column, I did it Wednesday morning. What comes up is a collection of madcap fake news, beginning with the usual Huffington Post insanity, apparently considered by Google an actual fair, balanced and accurate "news" company, which it is not. It should not even be considered news.
Just as Huffington Post is not news, neither is Google a fine company. It is a monopoly with an ultra-left-wing agenda that is displayed 24/7. It has also become the gatekeeper between news producers and consumers. You won't find reports by WND or Breitbart.com or the Daily Caller or any other independent news company that has anything positive or fair to say about Trump. Just like Facebook, YouTube, Twitter and Amazon, Google astonishingly relies on the inciteful smear merchants at the Southern Poverty Law Center as their "experts" and go-to consultants on so-called "haters," "racists," "extremists" and "fascists." Guess who has been labeled all of those things by the SPLC? Donald Trump.

Likewise, if you should Google the independent, right-of-center news sites like WND, Breitbart or Daily Caller, you will quickly be confronted with attacks on their credibility from a pack of lying, partisan hack sites from Rational Wiki to the SPLC to Media Matters to Snopes. Not so with Huffington Post, the ultra-"progressive" commentary forum.
Google's algorithms were designed to do just this, giving exceeding preference to the left-wing, anti-Trump "news" of the New York Times, Washington Post, CNN, ABC, CBS and NBC. You might say, "Well, Farah, Google has a right to do whatever it wants from a political perspective, just like you do. Don't we have a First Amendment in this country?"
The answer is: "Yes, we have a First Amendment in this country that protects the press, free speech and freedom of religion. But Google is not the press. Google is not a 'publisher.' Google is more like a utility that is required by law to be non-partisan and not take sides in political debates."
Do you think Google is doing that? If so, you are not opening your eyes. Google is the gatekeeper of the media. It is locking out and attacking viewpoints it does not like and actively affirming and promoting those it does like.
And that's why it is becoming the biggest threat to Americans' First Amendment freedoms – because of its enormous power and reach. If this is allowed to continue, without government oversight, without exposure, without Republicans and conservatives and libertarians recognizing the danger Google poses to a free and open debate in a free and open society, the First Amendment will become nothing but some nice words on parchment.

It's time to make some noise about this before we reach that point of no return. Are you with me?
In the meantime, let me encourage you to support WND and other alternative independent media with your donations. We are under siege and have been since the 2016 election as Google, Facebook, YouTube, Twitter and Amazon, all under the spell of the SPLC, attack us in broad daylight while hardly anyone notices. We are all facing crisis, hard times, despair, cutbacks and a questionable future. As I have said before, if the independent media fails, you will be living in a nation of speech codes and thought police. I do not exaggerate. The signs are everywhere. I only wish President Trump could see it as clearly as we all do.
How to help?
