Judge Brett Kavanaugh is being accused of sexual assault and therefore is claimed to be unfit for confirmation to the Supreme Court of The United States (SCOTUS).
How many times have we witnessed Democrats miraculously and implausibly, at the 11th hour, unearth a phalanx of women who just happen to have been assaulted, harassed or raped by a Republican their party opposes for election or an appointment, as in this instance, to the SCOTUS. This tactic is as predictable as it was that the New York Yankees would bring Mario Rivera in from the bullpen to face the last three batters of a game. But if that's where they want to go, let's talk about it.
Philip Bump, reporting for the Washington Post, wrote: "Since 1997, Congress' Office of Compliance has paid more than $17 million for 264 settlements and awards to federal employees for violations of various employment rules," including sexual harassment. ("Over The Past 20 Years, Congress Has Paid $17.2 Million In Settlements," Nov. 17, 2017)

On Nov. 20, 2017, I wrote the column, "Congressional Members Are Sexual Predators Not Judge Roy Moore." In it I said: "Rep. Jackie Speier, D-Calif., told NBC's Chuck Todd: 'We do know there is about $15 million that has been paid out by the House on behalf of [sexual] harassers in the last 10-15 years.' Speier also recently testified in front of the House Administration Committee that two members of Congress, a Republican and a Democrat, have engaged in sexual harassment in the past."
Think about that: $17.2 million in taxpayer money secretly spent by Congressional members over a 20-year period, $15 million of which, according to a sitting House member, was clandestinely spent "in the last 10-15 years" to secretly settle sexual harassment and harassment cases. Many of those involved remain in Congress today with the public not knowing the identity of the sexual predators.

Shouldn't these congressional perpetrators be brought forward publicly for egregious misuse of taxpayer dollars and blacklisted from office?
Highly respected liberal Democratic lawyers and judges who are Hillary Clinton supporters who worked with and/or clerked for His Honor Judge Kavanaugh testified in support of him. That includes Lisa Blatt, who heads the Supreme Court practice at Arnold and Porter. Attorney Blatt testified: "I'm a liberal feminist lawyer. … [Judge] Kavanaugh is a great listener, and one of the warmest, friendliest and kindest individuals I know. And other than my former boss, Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, I know of no other judge who stands out for hiring female law clerks." (See: "I'm A Liberal Feminist Lawyer. Here's Why Democrats Should Support Judge Kavanaugh," politico.com, Aug. 2, 2018)

Kerry Picket, for the Daily Caller, reported that "Senate Judiciary Chairman Chuck Grassley, R-Iowa, released a letter he and ranking member Dianne Feinstein, D-Calif., received, which was signed by 65 women who say they knew Judge Brett Kavanaugh from when he was a teenager in high school." (See: "65 Women From Kavanaugh's High School Years Defend Judge In Letter To Senate," Sept. 14, 2018)
The letter read in part: "We are women who have known Brett Kavanaugh for more than 35 years and knew him while he attended high school between 1979 and 1983. For the entire time we have known Brett Kavanaugh, he has behaved honorably and treated women with respect … with a wide circle of friends. We knew Brett well through social events, sports, church and various other activities. Many of us have remained close friends with him and his family over the years. Through the more than 35 years we have known him, Brett has stood out for his friendship, character, and integrity. In particular, he has always treated women with decency and respect. That was true in high school, and it has remained true to this day."
This is the same attempted hatchet job Democrats always pull. But, they've cried wolf too many times in the past, and I do not believe the tactic will work this time.
This accusation is balderdash. The only thing missing is Gloria Allred parading the woman before the cameras.
No women came forward to defend Bill Clinton, as he was being held accountable for rape, sexual battery and sexual molestation. No women classmates from Oxford University came forward to say Clinton was a man of impeccable moral character who was respectful and treated women with dignity, as he was being expelled from Oxford. Shouldn't Clinton have been deemed unfit for office?

Alleged classmates don't remember Obama at any of the schools he supposedly attended. Shouldn't that fact, coupled with his having paid millions to have his records sealed, disqualified Obama from office? Shouldn't the sworn revelations of Larry Sinclair, the homosexual who "outed" Obama, have been taken seriously by Democrats?
Where was this woman when Judge Kavanaugh was appointed to the various other courts?
It's time for Republicans to cease playing along with Democrats. There is no need to delay voting on Judge Kavanaugh. Feinstein tried to sabotage the proceedings. Now let her eat cake.
