(METRO) -- A new report has failed to find a link between high levels of bad cholesterol and heart disease.
The study, which was led by 17 doctors from across the world, urged clinicians to stop using statins as a preventive measure as a result.
The use of the drug has always been highly contentious, with physicians disagreeing about its effectiveness when treating heart disease.
