A Minnesota school teacher who posted a tweet urging someone to kill new Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh has resigned.
WND reported on Tuesday the special-education teacher from Rosemount was put on administrative leave after posting the tweet over the weekend.
An FBI spokesman said the bureau was aware of the tweet, which read: “So whose [sic] gonna take one for the team and kill Kavanaugh?”
The teacher was an instructor at the Intermediate School District 917’s Alliance Education Center.
She later deleted her account on Twitter.
According to the Minneapolis Star-Tribune, the district said the instructor, whom it did not name, had voluntarily resigned.
In a statement, Intermediate School District 917 Superintendent Mark Zuzek wrote that the staff member did not make the post on Twitter while at school, and “there were no school devices, equipment or other school staff involved in the actions.”
“At no time were students or staff in danger. The employee was placed on paid administrative leave and an investigation conducted.”
Complaints about the statement started appearing on Sunday, school officials said.
The teacher has not been charged with a crime.
The Rosemount district serves special education students in nine public school districts across the southeast metropolitan Minneapolis area. It is separate from the Rosemount-Apple Valley-Eagan school district, the Star-Tribune said.
