(NJ.com) -- The Schalick High School wrestling team will not compete this season following a preseason alleged hazing incident that resulted in the arrests of several wrestlers.
Pittsgrove Township superintendent Scott Hoopes e-mailed a statement to parents, shared with NJ.com, that read:
“Following a thoughtful discussion at last evening’s board meeting, it has been decided that the 2018-2019 wrestling season will be cancelled. Both the administration and the Board unanimously support this decision. The District is committed to taking all possible steps to make sure that the recent events that led to this decision never happen again.”
