(New York Daily News) — At an awards ceremony this week for people combating campus sexual assault, Joe Biden once again expressed “regret” over the treatment of Anita Hill during the 1991 Clarence Thomas confirmation hearings.
Biden, who was chairman of the committee that grilled Hill and gave Thomas an easy ride, now says he regretted that he “couldn’t” give Hill “the hearing she deserved.”
“I wish I could’ve done something,” he said.
This isn’t news — he first spouted a version of this same pabulum in December 2017, then again during the Brett Kavanaugh confirmation hearing.
