House Speaker Nancy Pelosi apparently is demanding that illegal aliens be allowed to vote.
At a news conference Tuesday, she promoted a proposed voting-rights bill that would prohibit state officials from checking whether voters legally have the right to vote.
The California Democrat chastised Republicans who support laws requiring identification to register and vote by evoking Republican President Ronald Reagan.
“In the campaign, the candidate that I, the president that I quoted the most was Ronald Reagan,” she said. “Does that surprise you? Maybe. But Ronald Reagan said this: ‘This is the last speech I will make as president of the United States. And I have a message I want to communicate to the country I love.'”
Pelosi said Reagan “went on to talk about the Statue of Liberty and what it means to the world – that beacon of hope, what it means to people who have come here and seen that statue welcoming them – he said, our ancestors, our grandparents, our parents.”
She then turned the corner.
“We, in California, see people coming from a different direction, but the same welcome. You see them coming, many from the south, southern border, but should be the same welcome. He went on to say, though, after talking about the Statue of Liberty: ‘the vital force of America’s preeminence in the world is every new generation of immigrants who come to our country. And when American fails to recognize that as our vital force, American will fail to be preeminent in the world’ – preeminent in the world.”
Collin Rugg at I Love My Freedom pointed out the failure of her logic.
“Reagan was referring to LEGAL immigrants, not ILLEGAL ones.”
Rugg noted that Pelosi “fails to clarify if she is discussing legal or illegal immigrants but there is no data that suggests that legal immigrants’ votes are being suppressed so it seems to be clear that Pelosi is talking about illegal aliens.”
He said Pelosi “is openly encouraging criminal actions that negatively impact our country and falsely using Reagan’s words to encouraged her twisted agenda.”
Donald Trump Jr. noticed Pelosi’s get-all-to-vote agenda:
And there it is folks. What we all knew but no one would say. It’s only about votes for Democrats.

Craig Millward of CNS News pointed out that the bill Pelosi is promoting, H.R. 1, the “For the People Act of 2019,” undermines recent Supreme Court decisions in support of voter verification.
Pelosi said the bill would include same-day voter registration, auto voter registration and online registration.
Rugg said the “whole purpose of her speech was to portray the message that people coming across our southern border are making America more American and how we shouldn’t suppress their vote.”
“The only reason Democrats like Pelosi care so much about immigration, is because of the votes they gain.”
House Democrats voted Friday to advance the let-illegals-vote plan.
Georgia Democrat John Lewis said, “We are prepared to open up the political process and let all of the people come in.”
Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., has called the bill the “Democrat Politician Protection Act” for the fact immigrant votes typically go for Democrats.
The office staff for Pelosi, who was the first cosponsor of the plan, refused to respond to a WND request to comment on whether her goal specifically is to give illegal aliens the vote.
