(The American Independent) -- New photos published by CNN on Tuesday reveal that immigrant children and families are being forced by the Trump administration to sleep on the ground with only thin Mylar blankets covering them.
In one of the photos, which were taken at a border patrol station in McAllen, Texas, a woman is sitting on a rocky pathway, leaning against a building and cradling a small child. In another, adults and children are milling about near a large tent filled with children and Mylar blankets.
“Nobody, no matter who you are, where you are from should spend an hour like this,” the source who sent CNN the photos said. “This is the United States of America. Not in our country.”

CNN did not identify the source, only saying it was someone who was allowed to access the area and “was disturbed by the conditions over the weekend.” Trump administration officials confirmed the location as McAllen, Texas.
