An “aggressive telemarketer” who contacted Planned Parenthood is the fault of two journalists who went undercover in 2015 to expose abortionists trading in the body parts of unborn babies.
At least, that’s according to Planned Parenthood.
The abortion industry giant also blamed the undercover investigators for a “dramatic increase in harassment” that including letters with offensive messages such as “Jesus loves you.” And Planned Parenthood Medical Director Mary Gatter, who was shown on video haggling over the price of baby parts, joking “I want a Lamborghini,” claimed she received numerous death threats through social media.
However, Gatter admitted she is not actually on any social media platforms.
The details come from Life Legal Defense Foundation, one of the groups helping defend David Daleiden, the Center for Medical Progress and others.
The abortion cartel members are suing Daleiden and others for the video revelations.
Making a profit on the sales of baby body parts is illegal.
LLDF said it hopes, based on the evidence, that Judge William Orrick will dismiss the case against Daleiden.
A hearing will be held Wednesday.
LLDF said a “perfect storm is brewing” in Planned Parenthood’s lawsuit against Daleiden.
Orrick is scheduled to hear nine motions from pro-life organizations and one by Planned Parenthood’s abortionists.
“Four years ago today, CMP released the first of a series of videos showing Planned Parenthood officials negotiating the sale of baby body parts for profit. Shortly after the release, Planned Parenthood sued CMP and its board members for millions in damages. The abortion giant maintains it had to increase security at many of its affiliates because of a ‘dramatic increase in the threats, harassment, and criminal activities targeting abortion providers,’ including nearly 850 incidents of vandalism alone in July and August of 2015 and a nine-fold increase in ‘security incidents’ following the release,” LLDF said.
However, through extensive discovery, Life Legal attorneys “found these assertions to be blatantly false.”
“Instead of 850 incidents, there were 20 – none of which had anything to do with the videos. For example, one act of vandalism Planned Parenthood blamed on CMP was actually committed by the ex-partner of a PP employee,” LLDF said.
“We discovered that Planned Parenthood equated a ‘dramatic increase in harassment’ with non-threatening letters and phone calls. Anyone who expressed opposition to abortion was characterized as a security threat. Some of the offending letters were from individuals who simply wrote ‘Jesus loves you’ or ‘our church is praying for you.'”
And Gatter’s claim to have received “numerous death threats through social media”?
When pressed, Gatter admitted she is not actually on any social media platforms.
Other “security incidents” included “a male patient asking a staffer on a date, staffer boyfriend troubles and an aggressive telemarketer. PP tried to attribute all of these so-called security issues to the CMP videos to justify extorting millions of dollars from CMP for additional security measures.”
Katie Short, the vice president of legal affairs for the group, explained: “For the past three years, Life Legal’s goal in discovery has been to lay the groundwork for summary judgment. We have shown that Planned Parenthood’s claims of a ‘surge’ in threats and violence are fabricated. This means PP does not have a claim against our client and the lawsuit should be dismissed.”
There are other lawsuits against the videos. The pro-abortion attorney general in California, Xavier Becerra, whose campaign supporters have included Planned Parenthood, has charged Daleiden with violating California’s privacy law by recording people in public locations such as restaurants.
Some of the videos were released, but the National Abortion Federation went to court and Orrick granted them a ruling censoring the ones from the NAF’s events. Orrick, who has a longstanding relationship with Planned Parenthood as a member of the board of a location where a business is situated, also fined Daleiden and his lawyers.
That’s because Becerrra cited the concealed videos in his criminal counts. Daleiden’s lawyers released them online, arguing they were evidence in a criminal case and should be made public.
Orrick immediately ordered them removed, expanding his order to take them away from organizations that were not even involved in the case.
The judge claimed the videos were deceptively edited, but an appeals court later found that not to be true.
As a result of the investigation, several congressional committees held hearings and made referrals to the Department of Justice for investigation and possible prosecution.
The referrals failed to advance under Barack Obama’s direction, but may have come under review again with President Trump in office.
Eventually, two bioscience companies reached settlements with the Orange County district attorney’s office to stop selling fetal tissue for profit, relinquishing $7.7 million in the agreement.
During the short time the NAF video was available, WND transcribed for its readers the comments of the abortion-industry figures.
Lisa Harris, medical director for Planned Parenthood of Michigan, says in the video: “Our stories don’t really have a place in a lot of pro-choice discourse and rhetoric, right? The heads that get stuck that we can’t get out. The hemorrhages that we manage.”
Susan Robinson of Planned Parenthood of Mar Monte in San Jose, California: “The fetus is a tough little object and taking it apart, I mean taking it apart, on day one is very difficult.’
Talcott Camp, deputy director of the American Civil Liberties Union’s Reproductive Health Freedom Project: “I’m like oh my god! I get it! When the skull is broken, that’s really sharp. I get it, I understand why people are talking about getting that skull out, that calvarium.”
Deborah Nucatola, senior director of medical services at Planned Parenthood Federation of America: “You know, sometimes she’ll tell me she wants brain, and we’ll, you know, leave the calvarium in ’til last, and then try to basically take it, or actually, you know, catch everything, and even keep it separate from the rest of the tissue so it doesn’t get lost.”
Uta Landy, founder of the Consortium of Abortion providers for Planned Parenthood: “An eyeball just fell down into my lap, and that is gross.”
Her comment was followed by raucous laughter from the abortionists at the meeting of the National Abortion Federation, where the undercover video was taken.
Stacy De-Lin of Planned Parenthood of New York City was among others in the video. She says: “But we certainly do intact D&Es (dilation and extraction).”
Ann Schutt-Aine of Planned Parenthood of the Gulf Coast: “If I’m doing a procedure, and I’m seeing that I’m in fear that it’s about to come to the umbilicus, I might ask for a second set of forceps to hold the body at the cervix, and pull off a leg, or two, so it’s not PBA (partial birth abortion).”
Harris again: “Given that we actually see the fetus the same, and given that we might actually both agree that there’s violence in here, ask me why I come to work every day. Let’s just give them all the violence, it’s a person, it’s killing, let’s just give them all that.”
Susan Robinson of Planned Parenthood Mar Monte: “You go in there, and you go, ‘am I getting the uterus, or the fetus? Oh good fetus. What have I got. Nothing. Let’s try again.'”
Leslie Drummond of Planned Parenthood Mar Monte: “I get a lot of ‘oohs’ and aahs’ from Stemex(press) you know, they’re wanting livers. Last week I was in Sacramento and she said, ‘I need four intact limbs’ and I said ‘you want what?'”
Paul Blumenthal, Planned Parenthood of Maryland: “I know Planned Parenthood sells a lot of stuff (fetal organs) to people.”
Deb Vanderhei of the Consortium of Abortion Providers: “But the truth is that some might want to do it for, to increase their revenues. And we can’t ‘stop them.”
