A newly declassified email from Susan Rice reveals that fired FBI Director James Comey warned Barack Obama before President Trump was inaugurated that it might be a problem to share “sensitive” information about Russia with Lt. Gen. Michael Flynn.

Just the News reported the contents of the email from Rice, Obama’s national security adviser, to herself were largely known .

But a key paragraph released this week revealed Comey’s warning to Obama about Flynn, who became Trump’s first national security adviser.

The email memorialized a meeting with Comey, Rice, Obama, Vice President Joe Biden and Deputy Attorney General Sally Yates.

They were discussing the now-debunked claims of Russia collusion and Obama’s desire to know if his administration should “ascertain if there is any reason we cannot share information fully as it relates to Russia.”

The president was concerned about the transfer of power to the Trump administration.

In the email, Rice wrote that Comey told Obama he had “some concerns that incoming NSA Flynn is speaking frequently with Russian Ambassador Kislyak.”

Comey had admitted he had seen “no indication thus far that Flynn has passed classified information to Kislyak.”

But he claimed that the level of communication between the two was “unusual,” JTN said.

Comey ordered FBI agents to interview Flynn even though the bureau already had concluded that no one in the 2016 Trump campaign “colluded” with Russia.

The Department of Justice moved earlier this month to drop the charges against Flynn, but the judge in the case has refused to sign the motion.

Former federal prosecutor Andrew C. McCarthy thinks Flynn might not have been “unmasked” as widely believed.

Instead, his Dec. 29, 2016, call with Russian Ambassador Sergey Kislyak “was likely intercepted under an intelligence program not subject to the masking rules, probably by the CIA or a friendly foreign spy service acting in a nod-and-wink arrangement with our intelligence community.”

“This is not just about unmasking. It is about how pervasively the Obama administration was monitoring the Trump campaign,” he writes.

McCarthy explains there is no record showing who unmasked Flynn in connection with the the phone call.

President Trump has described the Obama administration’s investigation into the claims of Russia collusion “the greatest political crime in the history of our country.”
