In the past 24 hours I invested time in two things that I really didn’t want to do. First, I spent almost two hours listening to Joe Biden give a press conference on the eve of his first anniversary in the Oval Office. I pray for him every day and as a patriot want the best for America, but I perceive multitudes are awakening to the harm this man is doing to our country.
I say this respectfully but honestly: Mr. Biden got the nomination because the party didn’t want socialist Sanders, and he won the election because many didn’t want Trump. The brutal reality is he is not up to the job, is in a delusional state of denial, and going forward this reality is dangerous for America.
The second thing I did in the past 24 hours was take a pair of jeans that were a “prized possession” for 15 years and finally disposed of them. With time I tried to salvage them, going to a tailor to put patches on both legs, getting holes sewn and rationalizing I could keep wearing them because it’s trendy to have ripped jeans today. I was in denial that their time was up, but I finally came to my senses, agreed with my wife (who’s been telling me this for years!) and threw them away.
Two people in denial – one case silly and insignificant; the other serious and scary for the future of this nation.
Joe Biden earns an ‘F’
The very day a buoyant Joe Biden read his rehearsed Teleprompter presentation making his case for a prospering America after one year of his presidency, an unbiased, nationwide poll on Politico revealed the overwhelming assessment of the American public: 37% graded his performance an “F” and 12% a “D.”
This report card from Republicans, Democrats and Independents is, as Hillary Clinton likes to say, deplorable! His approval rating is near Nixon when he resigned during Watergate – 33% (although he said in the press conference, “I don’t believe in polls”).
Some of the reasons for Biden’s catastrophic collapse:
- Dividing the country after vowing to unite us.
- Afghanistan withdrawal – unmitigated disaster.
- Skyrocketing inflation – highest in 40 years (compared to zero inflation under Trump and booming economic growth).
- Ever-increasing gasoline prices and loss of energy independence, which had been achieved for the first time in 70 years.
- COVID confusion and continued escalation after promising to end it.
- Unending supply chain shortages.
- Bombastic approach to vaccinations and ultimate Supreme Court mandate defeat.
- Voter suppression ruse as states establish reforms for honest future elections.
- Continuing border crisis (over 2 million mostly unvaccinated illegals surged the southern border in 13 months).
- Unprecedented violent crime and homicides in Democrat-run cities.
- Failed initiatives, like Build Back Better, Voter Rights Act, ending the filibuster and eliminating the “Return to Mexico ” policy initiated by Trump and reinstated by the courts.
- Kamala, Pelosi, Psaki, AOC, Schumer … annoying antagonism.
- Aggressive leftist agenda pushed, including taxpayer-funded abortion on demand.
- Ongoing entitlement giveaways amidst a $31 trillion national debt.
What Biden said:
- “What is the trajectory of the country right now? Is it moving in the right direction? I don’t see how you can say it’s not!” [Note: Current Politico poll reveals 68% of Americans believe we are headed in the wrong direction.]
- Current problems come from three areas: Trump. COVID. Obstructionist Republicans.
- Solution for “temporary” inflation? Pass “Build Back Better.”
- “I’m a mainstream Democrat not a socialist!”
- “I created an unprecedented 6 million jobs!” [Sleight of hand: COVID lockdowns ended, restrictions lifted and checks ran out, so people returned to work!).
- He categorically denied a question about “pulling the country to the left” while reveling in massive government spending programs that are unsustainable and promote dependency and further government control.
- When sensitively asked about his cognitive state he quickly deflected the inquiry.
- He’s ready to run for four more years and will have Kamala Harris as his running mate in 2024.
Here’s the deal: Jesus said we’ll know people by their fruit. Joe Biden spent almost two hours giving glowing accounts of the economy, COVID, the Afghanistan withdrawal, his recent Georgia speech (comparing his opponents to segregationists Bull Connor and George Wallace), “Build Back Better” failed legislation and basically his entire record for 12 months. His press conference was revealing, instructive and frankly extremely scary to watch. May God have mercy on the United States of America while we pray for our leaders at this critical time.
