A young 13-year-old girl has died after receiving the Pfizer COVID shot.
Brazilian news outlet Revista Oeste reports (translated): “The Santa Catarina Epidemiological Surveillance Directorate (DIVE) investigates the death that occurred on Monday 10th of a 13-year-old girl, resident of the city of Araranguá (SC), due to an alleged reaction to the Pfizer vaccine. According to the girl’s mother, Alice Romano Martins, to Portal de NotÃcias Agora!, the daughter received the first dose of the vaccine on November 9 and five days later presented with Bell’s Palsy – a disorder that normally paralyzes one of the sides of the face and can be caused by viral infections or immune problems.
“Alice says that after treatment with corticosteroids the girl’s symptoms worsened and she was hospitalized on December 29 with respiratory depression. Subsequently, she was intubated and transferred to the Joana de Gusmão Children’s Hospital, in Florianópolis, on January 2.”
