One of the most famous and intriguing proverbs in the entire Bible is even more inspiring than it already is, because something amazing has been lost in translation.
That according to the author of a new book that probes the hidden content of Scripture to illuminate its meaning on the higher, Spirit level.

"Because the Bible was not originally written in English, occasionally there are passages that have had part of their meaning lost in translation," says Joe Kovacs, author of the best-seller, "Reaching God Speed: Unlocking the Secret Broadcast Revealing the Mystery of Everything."
"But once we dig into the original language in which it was inked, we can unearth hidden gems that sparkle with clarity once examined."

The proverb in question states: "It is the glory of God to conceal a matter and the glory of kings to investigate a matter." (Proverbs 25:2 CSB).

The King James Version of the same verse indicates: "It is the glory of God to conceal a thing: but the honour of kings is to search out a matter."
Kovacs, who is known for his "Shocked by the Bible" series, says: "On its surface, the verse already says something compelling, that God conceals things, and He is prompting His people to probe and uncover the mystery He has hidden.
"But there is something extraordinary hidden in the Hebrew language, and it is not well known among those in the English-speaking world. The word that is translated as 'a matter,' or as some Bibles put it, 'a thing,' comes from the Hebrew word 'dabar.'

"And what does 'dabar' actually mean in English? It means 'the word' and is translated as 'word' more than eight hundred times in Scripture."

He explains what's so significant is that even people first learning how to read Scripture understand that "the Word" is actually a name for the Creator God. For instance:
- "The Word was God" (John 1:1 KJV).
- "His name is called The Word of God" (Revelation 19:13 KJV).
"In fact," says Kovacs, "in the Old Testament, many instances of the word 'dabar' as 'the word' are actually referring to the Person who is called 'the word of the LORD.'"

Here are two examples:
- 'Then came the word [dabar] of the LORD to Isaiah, saying ...' (Isaiah 38:4 KJV).
- 'Then the word [dabar] of the LORD came unto me, saying ...' (Jeremiah 1:4 KJV).
The author explains what's so astonishing is that when 'dabar' is translated as it should be rendered in the proverb about God concealing things, it broadcasts a message with incredible new life.
He says a proper reading of the verse can be: "It is the glory of God to conceal the Word and the glory of kings to investigate the Word" (Proverbs 25:2).

"Here's a translation that should shed even more light: 'It is the glory of God to conceal JESUS and the glory of kings to investigate JESUS'" (Proverbs 25:2).
"That's right, folks," says Kovacs. "This simple proverb about investigating things is not merely about probing into just any matter. It's about investigating the Thing that really matters – the God named Jesus or Yeshua who hides Himself and 'who fills all things everywhere with himself' (Ephesians 1:23 NLT).
"It is the Creator's glory to conceal Himself in pretty much everything, and it is our duty, honor, and glory to investigate the Maker, to seek God's kingdom and search for His presence, even His personal presence that's hidden inside us."

"Now determine in your mind and heart to seek the LORD your God" (1 Chronicles 22:19 CSB).
"Seek, and you will find" (Luke 11:9 CSB).
"But from there you will search again for the LORD your God. And if you search for him with all your heart and soul, you will find him" (Deuteronomy 4:29 NLT).
