(CHRISTIAN HEADLINES) – The Major League Baseball pitcher who wears his Christian faith on his glove – literally – is heading to the Kansas City Royals.
Luke Weaver, who debuted a Scripture-infused “Bible Glove” this season, was traded from the Arizona Diamondbacks to the Royals on Monday for third baseman Emmanuel Rivera. Weaver, a right-handed reliever, battled injuries in April and May but had a solid July, allowing one run on four hits in eight innings. His fastball has been clocked at 97 mph.

Weaver’s glove, made by the company Aria, is designed to look like the binding of an old leather Bible. It features a cross, a crown of thorns, the phrase “His Glory,” and his favorite Bible verses. Aria calls it a “truly one-of-a-kind glove.” The company sells them.
