School recommends kindergartners read about trans INFANTS!

A New York City private school recommended books about young transgender children to kindergartners, according to the school’s summer reading list.

Nightingale-Bamford School, an all-female preparatory school in Manhattan, New York, is recommending books on transgenderism for kindergartners on its school library website. The recommended reading for parents and their students include picture books such as “When Aidan Became A Brother,” a story about a biological girl believing she is a boy as her new sibling is born.

“When Aidan Became A Brother” by Kyle Lukoff is about a male child, Aidan, creating an “inclusive” environment for his sibling, the school website stated. The book discusses how when Aidan was first born his parents “thought he was a girl” and had to adjust once he realized he was a “trans boy,” according to Lee and Low Books.

The school also recommended “Julian Is A Mermaid” by Jessica Love, about a boy, Julian, who wants to be like the women he saw dressed up as mermaids and eventually reveals his change in gender identity to his grandmother, who helps him transition. The website promotes the book as a tale about a boy “flooded with wonder and ready to dazzle the world.”

The school also promoted “Melissa,” a book about a boy who refers to himself as “Melissa” but does not know how to come out to her friends and family. The boy wants to play Charlotte in the class production of Charlotte’s Web, but is told he cannot try out because he is a boy, so he devises a plan to reveal his new gender identity to his classmates.

“Bodies Are Cool” by Tyler Feder is also recommended for kindergartners and uses gender neutral pronouns while promoting the acceptance of all body types, hair types and races.

The recommended books, the website said, are just “starting points” for families and their students to discover their “favorite authors” and “favorite subjects.”

Nightingale-Bamford did not immediately respond to the Daily Caller News Foundation’s request for comment.
