(WHO KNEW NEWS) – A new study has found that Venus may not be able to support life at all, but Jupiter might.

The amount of water activity in the sulphuric acid clouds of Venus was found to be more than a hundred times below the lower limit at which life can exist on Earth. These findings are in contrast to a study published last year that claimed possible life in Venus, as indicated by the phosphine gas in the planet’s atmosphere. The existence of the gas has since been proven but an error in the study significantly diminished the chances of finding life on Venus.
Co-author Philip Ball noted that studying water to search for extraterrestrial life “has sometimes been a bit simplistic,” since “it’s not enough to say that liquid water equates with habitability.”
