College asks Supremes to let it keep showers for men and women separate

A Christian college is asking the Supreme Court to let it keep separate dorms and showers for men and women.

It is the College of the Ozarks in Missouri, represented by the Alliance Defending Freedom, that is asking that it be allowed to uphold its biblical standards and offer those facilities only on a basis consistent with students' biological sex.

Earlier, the 8th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals had determined that the school wasn't allowed to sue the Biden administration for new rules requiring open facilities – available to anyone claiming any gender identity.

According to a report by Decision Magazine, the school sued Biden in 2021 to protest a Department of Housing and Urban Development rules declaring that dorms and showers are open for all.

The government is threatening the school with fines and penalties.

The school told the Supreme Court, "The [HUD] Directive requires the college to reverse its housing policies for 1,300 students. And, unless the directive is enjoined, it makes the college cease statements of its policies, preventing it from following through on ongoing plans and communications for student housing consistent with its religious beliefs. This jeopardizes the college’s ability to function, causes emotional harm to students who rely on the college’s housing policies, and dissuades Christian students from attending the college."

The executive order from Biden, "Preventing and Combating Discrimination on the Basis of Gender Identity or Sexual Orientation," is just one page of Biden's encyclopedic scheme to force the LGBT agenda, specifically the transgender ideology, on America.

Even though most Americans oppose those demands.

The order would force the college to violate its beliefs, based on millennia of teachings from the Bible, that biological sex is unchangeable.

Decision explained, "Since the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 8th Circuit has refused to block the housing directive, ADF attorneys are hopeful the Supreme Court will uphold the Christian college’s constitutional rights."

ADF counsel John Bursch said, "By redefining sex in federal law to include gender identity, President Biden has grossly overreached his authority and is mandating that Christian colleges must allow boys into girls’ dorm rooms and showers, and vice versa.

"College of the Ozarks should be free to follow the religious tradition on which it was founded. The government can’t strip a private, faith-based institution of its constitutionally protected freedoms because it disagrees with its views about marriage and sexuality."

This new “woke” consciousness has turned America upside-down – from the nationwide Antifa and Black Lives Matter riots in 2020, to tearing down of historic monuments, to demanding multi-million-dollar reparation payments for blacks, to appointing transgenders as top government officials, to rampant reverse discrimination in every area of life, to the U.S. military imposing mandatory “diversity training” and transgender pronoun use on all personnel, causing recruitment to disastrously plummet.

Yet there is hope. Being “saved” – which in Wokeism is called being “woke” – is largely a matter of worshipping victimhood by becoming an “ally” and “defender” of all the many victim classes, and a determined enemy of the straight white male oppressor class. Thus, “joining the righteous” as an ally – even if one is cursed to be a straight white male – opens the door mercifully for salvation, even to the most wretched.
