At least 23 killed, 4 missing after devastating tornado hits Mississippi

(WAPT) – As of 6:20 a.m. Saturday, 23 people have been confirmed dead and four are still missing, because of the tornado, according to the Mississippi Emergency Management Agency.

Sharkey County County Coroner Angelia Eason confirmed at 13 people were killed in Rolling Fork. Six bodies were recovered from a mobile home park. Eason said a husband and wife were found dead in their home after winds sent a neighbor’s 18 wheeler slamming into the house.

Eason said the whole town of Rolling Fork is practically gone.

Search and rescue crews were dispatched to Rolling Fork, along with ambulances in response to the tornado, according to Gov. Tate Reeves. Emergency shelters are open and crews from all over have come to help.
