(LEAD PATRIOT) – The discussion of pedophilia is a complicated one, and there is a definite line between right and wrong. Unfortunately, some liberal historians seem to be attempting to blur that line in order to normalize the horrific act of sexual assault on minors.
In a recent interview, historian Rachel Hope Cleves described pedophilia as “intergenerational sex” and refused to use words such as “survivors” or “abuse” when discussing the rape of a 10-year-old boy. She said, “In writing this book I didn’t want to use pedophilia discourse because I felt like it would fail to capture this other historical organizing system, for intergenerational sex, which was the topic I wanted to address.”

This is a disgusting attempt to normalize a horrendous act. Cleves is a professor of History at the University of Victoria and is currently on leave. In 2017, she co-authored an opinion column which argued that Republican Alabama Senate candidate Roy Moore, who was accused of sexually assaulting several underage girls, was “not a pedophile.”
