Whistleblowers say feds DID interfere in Hunter Biden prosecution

Merrick Garland, Joe Biden’s hand-picked attorney general, repeatedly has claimed that the investigation of – and case against – Hunter Biden was done independently of political influence.

He said, just days ago, “As I said from the moment of my appointment as attorney general, I would leave this matter in the hands of the United States attorney who was appointed by the previous president, and assigned to this matter by the previous administration, that he would be given full authority to decide the matter as he decided was appropriate. And that’s what he’s done.”

But doubt now is being cast on the accuracy of his opinion, given this week’s “resolution” of a long list of serious potential counts against Hunter Biden, regarding tax and gun violations, that could have sent him to prison for years. He gets a “diversion” and apparently will plead to a couple of misdemeanor counts.

It’s because whistleblowers have charged that, multiple times, the Department of Justice denied permission for the investigator, David Weiss, to bring charges.

The Washington Examiner explained the details were released by Rep. Jason Smith, R-Mo., chief of the House Ways and Means Committee.

The information is that Weiss “tried to bring charges in the District of Columbia around March of 2022 and was denied” permission to do that.

Then, the reports say, “Weiss sought to bring charges in the Central District of California in the fall of 2022 and had that requested denied in January 2023.”

The details come from whistleblower testimony discussed in a closed-door executive session of the committee Thursday, the report said.

Finally, Weiss “sought special counsel status from the DOJ in the spring of 2022” but saw the request rejected.

The Examiner explained, “Attorney General Merrick Garland had repeatedly vowed to ensure that Weiss would be insulated from any political interference. Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-IA) pressed Garland in March about this, suggesting that Garland’s testimony last year ‘could be misleading because without special counsel authority, he could need the permission of another U.S. attorney’s office in certain circumstances to bring charges’ beyond Delaware.”

Garland had said, “The U.S. attorney has been advised that he has full authority to make kind of those referrals you’re talking about or to bring cases in other jurisdictions if he feels it is necessary, and I will assure that if he does, then he will be able to do that.”

Smith said the evidence, however, was clear.

“I can now confirm that we have credible whistleblower testimony alleging misconduct and government abuse that is resulting in preferential treatment for the president’s son, Hunter Biden,” Smith said.

The congressman also charged there appeared “unjustified delays” in the case. Those could have been intended to run out the statute of limitations on the case.

The Examiner continued, “The whistleblowers also said IRS investigators were told by federal prosecutor Lesley Wolf that because evidence would be found in Joe Biden’s guesthouse, ‘there is no way’ a search warrant would ever get approved.”

Smith even charged that prosecutors were giving Hunter Biden’s lawyers “a heads-up” when there were developments in the case.

The whistleblowers also explained the IRS had recommended multiple felony counts – attempting to evade taxes, fraud, false statements and willful failure to file – against Hunter Biden.

Joe Biden repeatedly has claimed Hunter Biden has done nothing wrong, a line which he’ll need to change once the formal guilty pleas are entered.

Fox bluntly reported, “DOJ, FBI, IRS interfered with Hunter Biden probe, according to whistleblower testimony released by GOP” and “Federal officials protected President Biden’s son through ‘delaying, divulging, and denying’ the probe.”

It said that the testimony considered by Smith “outlines misconduct and government abuse at the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) in the investigation of Hunter Biden.”

A “steady campaign of: unequal treatment of enforcing tax law,” the whistleblowers said.

It said one whistleblower, IRS Criminal Supervisory Special Agent Gary Shapley Jr., “said decisions in the case seemed to be ‘influenced by politics.'”

In fact, the evidence coming available warned of Hunter Biden’s threats to Henry Zhao, a business executive and reportedly a Chinese Communist Party official.

That message, from Hunter Biden to Zhao, reportedly said, “I am sitting here with my father and we would like to understand why the commitment made has not been fulfilled. Tell the director that I would like to resolve this now before it gets out of hand, and now means tonight. And, Z, if I get a call or text from anyone involved in this other than you, Zhang, or the chairman, I will make certain that between the man sitting next to me and every person he knows and my ability to forever hold a grudge that you will regret not following my direction. I am sitting here waiting for the call with my father.”

The Daily Mail noted in its report that Hunter Biden allegedly failed to pay taxes of $8.3 million in income from Ukraine, China and Romania. Taxes on that income would have been in the range of $2.2 million.

IMPORTANT NOTE: It’s hard to believe it’s really happening, but it is. Male athletes pretend to be females, dominate their sports, and are thereby rapidly destroying women’s competitive sports worldwide. Convicted male criminals suddenly claim to be transgender so they can be confined in a women’s prison and sexually abuse the female inmates there. Men claiming to be female likewise invade women’s locker rooms, bathrooms, schools, dormitories, sororities, shelters, spas and social organizations – and in the process steal women’s scholarships, advancement, honors and myriad other opportunities.

Meanwhile, transgender groomers and recruiters in schools and on social media platforms like TikTok are continually feeding and expanding the current “mass hysteria” craze that has already led countless teen girls to take testosterone and undergo double mastectomies in a pathetic effort to become boys. No wonder the CDC reports 3 in 5 teen girls say they feel “persistently sad or hopeless” and almost 1 in 3 say they have seriously considered committing suicide.

All of this on top of the radical left’s renewed obsession with killing women’s unborn babies via abortion.

The “woke” left’s maniacal attack on women and girls, virtually unreported by the rest of the media, is the entire focus of the sensational June issue of WND’s critically acclaimed WHISTLEBLOWER magazine, titled “THE LEFT’S TOTAL WAR ON WOMEN.” WHISTLEBLOWER is available in both the popular print edition and a state-of-the-art digital version, either single issues or discounted annual subscriptions.
