‘Most important’ Bob Ross artwork fetches $9.8 million

(FOX BUSINESS) – A signed piece by famed 20th century artist Bob Ross for the first episode of his popular TV show “The Joy of Painting” has sold for more than $9.8 million at an auction house in Minneapolis.

The oil on canvas painting titled, “A Walk in the Woods” was created in 1983 at the start of the late artist’s illustrious public television career and was sold by Modern Artifact in Minneapolis.

The painting was described by Modern Artifact as the “most historically significant Bob Ross original painting ever created.”
