White House claims $6B ransom to Iran isn't 'ransom'

Iran demanded $6 billion for the release of 5 U.S. hostages through the form of a waiver on money moved to Iran through South Korea.

According to the Biden administration however even though this is a sum paid for the release of a prisoner, it’s not a ransom.
