(THE BLAZE) – A Missouri teacher said she was quitting her profession after she was brutally beaten by a student and a video of the attack was posted to social media.
“I’m afraid to go back in there. I can’t trust the children. I can’t trust the system,” said 65-year-old Sheryl Rogers in an interview with KMOV-TV. Rogers had previously come out of retirement to return to teaching in St. Louis, but she says she no longer feels safe.
In January, Rogers was beaten by a student who was upset that her belongs had been taken away at Normandy Collaborative High School. She was beaten and pulled by the hair in the hallway while kids looked on.
