Gunshots, by some estimates several dozen, rang out in an area adjacent to the White House Saturday evening, with details remaining unclear on whether who was injured, or taken into custody.
“FBI is on the scene and supporting Secret Service responding to shots fired near White House grounds – we will update the public as we’re able,” said FBI chief Kath Patel.
Reporters, on scene because of President Donald Trump’s telephone work with Middle East leaders working on a peace agreement with Iran, scrambled.
“I was in the middle of taping on my iPhone for a social video from the White House North Lawn when we heard the shots,” said Selina Wang, of ABC.
Washington fire and emergency medical services personnel responded and there apparently were two “patients” at one corner of the White House property, published reports said.
Victims, suspect, motive and more remained unclear.
