The sword of the Lord Sound off on churches using armed security to protect their congregations The right wingers are so paranoid, now they have to cling to their guns and religion at the same time This would be unnecessary if we had tougher gun-control laws The risk of an accidental discharge hurting someone is greater than that of some armed attacker This is not what the Prince of Peace taught his followers to do It's sad. Christians are supposed to go out into the world to preach the Gospel -- instead, evil is entering churches to kill them The fact is violent, deadly attacks have happened -- the need for security is proven If an incident does occur you can be sure some lawyer will sue saying the church was negligent for not having armed security The hatred aimed at Christians for their stand on social and moral issues is growing -- churches must prepare Today's demonization of Christians is not unlike the earlier demonization of Jews -- we know how that turned out The leaders of the church have a responsibility to protect the members and visitors who attend In addition to armed security, churches should conduct drills so people know what to do and not panic I thank God that at any given worship service at my church, there are several armed members prepared to deal with any attacker Other View Results Loading ...
