Muslim activists in Washington state are demanding to control a school’s messaging to students, insisting that officials, when they mention the October 7 terror attack by Hamas thugs on Israeli civilians in which 1,200 were slaughtered and hundreds more kidnapped, the tragedy be linked to Israel’s so-called “genocide” against Gaza residents.
In fact, Israel’s military responded to the war-like attack by Hamas three year ago and strategically took out terror threats throughout Gaza, including those coming from bunkers hidden underneath schools and residential areas.
It is the RAIR Foundation that has reported on the agenda of the Washington chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations, whose national organization has been designated a terror group by several states.
The report cited the preparations by Kelly Aramaki, superintendent of the Bellevue School District, as this year’s third anniversary of the Hamas terrorism approached.
She said that the district would follow the law in allowing speech to be expressed on campus, but it also would maintain a safe environment for students and employees.
She cited a reported “walkout” by students and said those leaving without permission would get unexcused absences and explained, “We remain steadfast in our commitment to confronting antisemitism in all its forms, responding promptly when it occurs, and ensuring that Jewish students, staff, and families experience safety, belonging, and respect. By honoring our students’ deeply held perspectives while encouraging them to consider how their words and actions may affect others, we can uphold the dignity of every member of our community and ensure all students are valued and supported.”
🇺🇸 Bellevue, United States. October 1. A swastika was put up in a bathroom at Newport High School, the Bellevue School District confirmed. The superintendent also warned about a social media post promoting an October 7 walkout at Sammamish High School that attacked “scheming Zionist bureaucrats” and “Zionist media.” https://t.co/33fnkhuZYl @TheBSD405 @JewishInSeattle

RAIR Foundation reported, “Both CAIR-Washington and Washington for Peace and Justice immediately responded with a letter challenging the district’s message. CAIR asserted that ‘over 20 families’ had contacted its office about Aramaki’s Oct. 2 communication. Then they stood on the standard Muslim supremacist talking point that the district was conflating ‘antisemitism’ with ‘anti-Zionist’ political speech. The organizations demanded that Bellevue ‘publicly correct the record.’ Then the groups took it a step further and outrageously demanded that the district change how it discusses Oct. 7, whitewashing the terrorist attack and spinning Islamic terrorists as victims. CAIR-WA and Washington for Peace and Justice instructed the district that in future correspondence, when referencing the significance of October 7, 2023, do not invoke the attacks on Israel without also stating that it was the start of the faux ‘genocide’ in Gaza.”
The report confirmed that similar conflicts have erupted in other states when those state CAIR organizations have inserted themselves into the operations of public schools.
The purported walkout at Bellevue did not appear to gain significant traction.

But the messaging became the focal point, with RAIR reporting, “The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) is demanding that Seattle-area school districts link Hamas’ butchery on Oct. 7, 2023, in Israel to the fake Gaza ‘Genocide.’ They want future district communications not to mention the atrocity without also calling the date of the slaughter the beginning of what the terror-linked organization described as the ‘current genocide’ in Gaza.”
The foundation report continued, “The letter that was sent to the school district was part of a broader CAIR-WA campaign directed at Washington school districts ahead of the third anniversary of the Islamic massacre of innocents in Israel. CAIR-WA sent a directive to ‘Washington School District Leaders’ that ordered administrators: ‘Do not conflate hate speech with protected political speech,’ arguing that ‘anti-Zionism’ should be treated as political speech distinct from ‘antisemitism.’ That’s Islamic whataboutism, and it’s Muslim political double speak that is a lie. ‘Do not erase the Palestinian experience,’ CAIR advised, and claimed, ‘It is factually incorrect that a protest or advocacy on October 7th is in any way antisemitic.’ That’s like claiming the Holocaust had nothing to do with the Jews.”
CAIR Washington demanded that “messaging to students” from the school must be “informed by organizations like CAIR-WA.”
The national CAIR group was, in fact, named as an unindicted co-conspirator in the Holy Land Foundation terror funding case.
