‘DO NOT BE STUPID!’ Trump demands Senate ‘blow up’ filibuster to ‘approve things at a record clip’

President Donald Trump has posted a social media statement demanding that the Republican majority in the U.S. Senate “blow up” the filibuster and pass a lot of important legislation, because if they don’t the Democrats will as soon as they get the chance.

And then the legislation being passed will be pro-Democrat.

In fact, a key Democrat already has suggested that very action, by insisting that everything is on the table for his party.

“How much abuse can the Republican Senate take from the Radical Left Lunatics in the form of Democrat Senators, before they BLOW UP (TERMINATE!) THE FILIBUSTER, and approve things at a record clip, including The Save America Act, that would be unthinkable without the Filibuster Termination??? The Dems will do it on the first hour of their first day. DO NOT BE STUPID!!! President DONALD J. TRUMP,” the president wrote.

Just the News reported Trump repeatedly has pressured senators to reform or eliminate the chamber rule that now calls for a 60-vote threshold to move legislation forward.

That allows Democrats, in the minority, to block anything they want stopped, such as funding for Immigration and Customs Enforcement, a common-sense election integrity plan, and more.

Even, “Senate Majority Leader John Thune has balked at the idea, even as members of his own conference increasingly suggest such a move to pass marquis legislation,” the report said.

It was Rep. Hakeem Jeffries, a Democrat, who issued the warning about everything being on the table for Democrats if and when they would be in the majority.

His “everything” suggests drastic action on the filibuster. And his comments were seen by observers as a threat.
