State track and field competition rocked by political rally

The opening of the California state girls’ track and field competition was rocked by a political rally in support of female athletes.

The “Save Girls’ Sports” event, organized by former NCAA women’s soccer player Sophia Lorey, took attention away from the actual events at the California Interscholastic Federation Southern Section, Division 3, preliminaries.

It happened just as a “transgender” athlete was participating for Jurupa Valley High.

“Our daughters are paying the price. This is insane! Our girls are suffering! They’re unsafe. Every time they enter into any competition or any restroom, they are unsafe,” Sonja Shaw, a candidate for California superintendent, said in a report at Fox.

It is part of a war that has developed between President Donald Trump’s agenda to recognize women and girls in sports for women and girls, and keep males in competitions for them and California Gov. Gavin Newsom, long a promoter of the impossible ideology of “transgender” athletes.

A statement from Newsom’s office said, “The governor has said discussions on this issue should be guided by fairness, dignity, and respect. He rejects the right wing’s cynical attempt to weaponize this debate as an excuse to vilify individual kids. The governor’s position is simple: stand with all kids and stand up to bullies.”

However, much of the bullying in sports in recent years has been by those advocating for transgenderism, with multiple lawsuits by males trying to gain access to girls’ competitions, locker rooms and such.

California, like more than a dozen other leftist states, allows students to participate in sex-segregated sports consistent with their gender identity, which is no more than a male saying he is a girl and demanding access to those events and showers.

The White House’s response: “Gavin Newscum is a truly sick individual who has no regard for fairness, dignity, and respect. If he did, he wouldn’t allow men to compete in women’s sports, limiting women’s opportunities and jeopardizing their health and safety. President Trump fights for commonsense policies that uplift every athlete and restore fairness on the field.”

The Department of Justice, in fact, has sued California’s state agencies, charging them with Title IX violations.
