Police in San Diego, California, say two teenagers opened fire at the city’s largest mosque Monday, killing three men before dying themselves of self-inflicted gunshot wounds.
After the attack at the Islamic Center of San Diego, the two suspected shooters were found dead inside a vehicle, San Diego Police Chief Scott Wahl said. The mosque hosts a private school. Students were led out of the facility after the incident, and none of them was harmed.
The initial report of an active shooter came in to law enforcement at 11:43 a.m. Pacific time. Authorities held a press conference Monday afternoon and reported that the shooters were believed to be 17 and 19 years old.
