President Donald Trump has endorsed Mike Lindell, the MyPillow company chief, in the race to gain the Republican nomination for governor in Minnesota, enraging local GOP officials who were unable to keep the radically left Tim Walz, a Democrat, out of the governor’s office in the last election.
Lindell was a key promoter of Trump’s arguments about the failures in election integrity during the 2020 presidential race.
Trump posted, “Mike Lindell, the ‘Pillow Man,’ and one of America’s greatest and most hard working Patriots, is running to be GOVERNOR OF MINNESOTA, replacing one of the worst and most incompetent governors in the history of the U.S.A. Early Primary Voting has begun and, if given the chance, Mike will be SPECTACULAR!!! He truly loves Minnesota, as do I, and wants to bring it back from oblivion and embarrassment. He can do it! Nobody has sacrificed more than Mike Lindell in fighting for our country, especially when it comes to Election Integrity. He truly deserves everything he gets – He will MAKE MINNESOTA GREAT AGAIN!!! MIKE LINDELL HAS MY COMPLETE AND TOTAL ENDORSEMENT – HE WILL NOT LET YOU DOWN. Good Luck Mike!!! President DONALD J. TRUMP.”
Alex Plechash, the chair of the Minnesota Republican Party, responded immediately with a thumbs-down.
“We were surprised by President Trump’s endorsement of Mike Lindell. We strongly support the President and his agenda, but Minnesota Republicans must choose the candidate best positioned to defeat Amy Klobuchar,” he said.
Klobuchar, a far-left Democrat who has worked hand-in-glove with Democrats like Barack Obama and Joe Biden on their agendas, is the likely Democrat nominee.
Plechash claimed, “When the going got tough under Tim Walz, Mike Lindell left Minnesota for Texas. Now he wants Minnesota Republicans to overlook his serious financial baggage, public records showing tens of thousands of dollars in delinquent property taxes, significant electability concerns, and unanswered questions surrounding his running mate. Minnesota cannot afford to nominate a ticket that gives Democrats an easy target and creates the very real possibility of another DFL trifecta.”
He said, “Other Republican candidates have spent years strengthening our party, supporting candidates, raising resources, and doing the hard work required to win elections. Republican delegates considered Mike Lindell at the State Convention, and he finished third. We believe that is where he will finish in the August primary. These are serious times, and they demand serious, disciplined leadership. Minnesota needs a governor who can unite Republicans, earn the support of independent voters, and defeat Amy Klobuchar.”

Trump himself hammered Klobuchar on Wednesday, saying on Truth Social: “Amy Klobuchar, the lightly respected Senator from Minnesota, is running for Governor to take the place of the current Corrupt and Incompetent Tim Walz. I have gotten to know Klobuchar over the years, and find her to be equally as incompetent as Walz, and probably equally as corrupt in that, as a high Government Official from Minnesota, she knew everything that was going on.
“If the Elections in Minnesota weren’t RIGGED, any Republican could win, but they were, and that is why nobody has won there since Richard Nixon many years ago. I thought I won it all three times, only to be disappointed in the end. Vote for Mike Lindell for Governor, who has my Complete and Total Endorsement, and forget about these Corrupt Dumocrats like Amy Klobuchar.”
There are several other candidates for the GOP nominate including state House Speaker Lisa Demuth and Kendall Qualls.
A Mason-Dixon Polling & Research Inc. poll found Demuth trailing Klobuchar 48%-40%, while Qualls trails 48%-37%. Lindall was trailing 53%-36%.
According to the Washington Examiner, David Schultz, a Hamline University teacher, said he would not be surprised at a Lindell win, but said he would not make a strong candidate.
Klobuchar would be expected to lead the state in far-left agendas, like Walz’s insistence on installing tampon dispensers in boys’ bathrooms in schools, earning him the nickname “Tampon Tim.”
