Alina Habba, the former U.S. attorney in New Jersey who was a Donald Trump trial lawyer and campaign adviser, said Monday she would “absolutely” serve as White House press secretary if the president picks her to replace Karoline Leavitt.
Appearing on the Benny Show with journalist Benny Johnson, Habba said: “I serve this country. It is the greatest honor for me to do so – and I serve it as the president sees fit. Do I think I could do it? Absolutely. I feel that I kind of had done it before he was in the White House to some extent.”
“I love it. I miss doing this,” she added. “Like Karoline, I have a family and I’ve been enjoying that as well. But if the president called me and asked me, of course I would do it.
“He knows what’s best for his administration and for the American people. And he knows what to do, and I trust his judgment whoever it is that he picks to do that role.”
“I have a hard time saying no to that man – I can’t. I wasn’t gonna go to the White House, and then I did, and it was the greatest honor of my life, and the Department of Justice, and I always say it’s been quite the journey.”

Johnson noted on X: “The people want Alina Habba in the briefing room.”
As of Monday afternoon, Habba was ranked in fifth place for the job on the Kalshi prediction market, behind White House Principal Deputy Press Secretary Anna Kelly, CNN conservative analyst Scott Jennings, White House communications adviser Margo Martin and former model and Republican National Committee spokeswoman Elizabeth Pipko.
Regarding her name on the prediction markets, Habba said on Aug. 19: “Flattered by the Kalshi odds, but I’m not in the running for any job. However, if I’m getting a new one, I’d love for one of these anonymous sources to let me know first. Fake news remains the undefeated champ … well … until I come at them.”

On Aug. 13, Habba called Leavitt “perfection,” stating: “You walked into that room every day outnumbered and still owned it. Nobody handled the fake news better. Enjoy this time with your beautiful family. You’ve earned it. ❤️🇺🇸 And whoever gets that podium next better come ready for a fight 💪 they have big shoes to fill.”

As WorldNetDaily reported Aug. 23, Scott Jennings, the sole conservative voice on CNN who bills himself as “America’s favorite pundit,” rocketed to the top of prediction markets after President Trump mentioned him by name to reporters.
The commander in chief also suggested that Alexis McAdams of Fox News could fill the position.
With Leavitt standing off-camera, Trump pointed to McAdams and said, “She could do the job. I think so. What do you think, Karoline? I like it. I’ve always liked you, that’s why I’m doing this.”
“You have done a great job,” the president continued.
Trump was initially asked by McAdams if Leavitt were replaceable, and he replied: “No she’s not. She really isn’t.”
“She’s done a great job. I found out she likes her children more than she likes Trump. I’m very concerned about that.”
