While President Donald Trump touted the possibility of a peace deal, the U.S. conducted a series of strikes against Iran.
Qeshm Island, an island at the mouth of the Strait of Hormuz, that is home to an underground missile site and Iranian Navy Base, was struck on Monday, U.S. officials told the Wall Street Journal on Monday. This was the latest in a series of strikes that the U.S. launched against Iran over the past several weeks.
These strikes occurred while Trump downplayed the nature of the ongoing Iran war, falsely claiming that the U.S. “won.”
🚨 FAFO: Iran fired a missile at an American aircraft over the Strait of Hormuz. Then it found out.
A U.S. fighter jet DESTROYED the IRGC missile launcher on Qeshm Island in self-defense, U.S. officials say.
Officials call it limited and defensive. It is not a return to war.
Talks are still going. JD Vance says he and Trump feel good about a deal, but the president keeps every option open.
Trump warns Iran will get “the hammer” if the talks fail.
Peace through STRENGTH. That is how you do it.

“We had a war with Iran. We won,” Trump told reporters Monday, per Wall Street Journal. “I don’t know if you even call it a war because we haven’t been doing any fighting for months.”
The United States Central Command (CENTCOM) did not immediately respond for comment.
The strikes were limited, small scale defensive measures intended to prevent Iran from attacking ships in the Strait of Hormuz, United States officials told the New York Times.
In one instance, Iranians fired a missile at an American fighter jet in self-defense. In another confrontation, United States forces intercepted a missile that originated in Qeshm Island that was targeting commercial shipping vessels. However, America did not publicly announce these strikes. The Pentagon is keeping these occurrences under wraps so as to not demonstrate any intention of resuming major military operations in the region, United States officials told the Wall Street Journal.
The U.S. and Iran have made some “progress” and both Vice President JD Vance and Trump felt “pretty good” about the possibilities for an agreement, the vice president told reporters on Monday.
“Our demands have been stated very clearly and transparently, and Iran’s demands are reasonable and logical,” Iran’s Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmail Baghaei told reporters according to Wall Street Journal. “[T]he ball is in the U.S. court.”
